Waxsanhaye is a family business with a rich history that dates back to 1948. Haji Mohamed Ismail founded our company as a shop selling spices, medicinal herbs, and fragrances. Today, Waxsanhaye is the largest and most well-known herb company in East Africa, with seven branches across multiple countries in the region, including Somaliland, Somalia, Djibouti, and Ethiopia.
At Waxsanhaye, we take great pride in the responsible cultivation of our spice ingredients in collaboration with our farmer partners, ensuring the long-term viability of our global supply chains. Our ingredients form the basis of flavors that consumers find irresistible.
We are also proud to provide the international market with frankincense, myrrh, sesame, Arabic gum and other essential oils harvested from Somaliland, the country of frankincense and myrrh. These products have been used for centuries for their medical properties and are enjoyed by millions worldwide.
Throughout our seven-decade history, we have remained committed to the vision of our founder father, which is to enhance flavor and promote the health benefits of our products to millions of people worldwide.
